Well, it’s now official. My Christian marriage web site is up and running. Since getting laid off from my job at the very end of February, this is the direction that I felt God was leading me in. What the devil meant for evil, God turned into good.
It took a few months before I actually completely stepped out on faith. Come May, I really felt God was telling me that I was straddling the line, that I was still searching for a job “in case the direction He was leading me didn’t work out.” Well on May 24th, after turning down a job that was the same ole’ thing to get by, I made that step (after much praying and discussing with my wife:) and stopped the job search. OH MY!
Since then, I think I’ve worked harder than any job I’ve ever had. But I’ve enjoyed it more than any of those jobs also. God’s given me a big (HUGE in my eyes) vision, but like it says in Ephesians 3:20 “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”
I’m choosing to believe that.
Now your probably wondering, “what vision, what direction David?” Well to quickly sum it up, I’ve felt God’s given me a heart to help other married couples have a better marriage; one that is successful according to His plan and principles. This has been lingering around for a while now, but I didn’t know what to do with that desire.
Along with that, I’ve also had the desire to have my own business. I’ve tried a few different things that haven’t necessarily worked out, but they at least showed me where I wasn’t supposed to be. Good learning experiences.
Finally earlier this year, God started connecting the dots between the two desires. Ideas started forming, things started falling in place, and the devil came at me like a bull in a china shop (I’ll touch on that next time). If that’s not a good indicator of going in the right direction, I don’t know what is:o
What qualifies me to do this? Well, I’ve got my own story of how God has led our marriage back from the cliff’s edge. He’s done it for my marriage…and He can do it for yours.
This is just the beginning. Like I said, God’s given me a huge vision.
