Christmas

A Christmas Free from Stress

The holiday season spanning from Thanksgiving through Christmas is a stressful time for many.

Instead of taking the time to enjoy our families and what each of these holidays actually represent, we spend most of it worrying about the many things that need to get done.  Buying presents, planning and cooking meals, coordinating the visit to someone’s house, or preparing for everyone to come to our houses, the list goes on.

It seems like another job instead of a time of celebration.  By the time it’s all done, we’re just wiped out and thankful it’s over.

Marriage Bible Verse of the Week – Receive & Give the Gift of Patience

It’s that wonderful time of the year…or is it?

Christmas is great. It’s that time where we celebrate the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ.

It’s the time when families come together and get to spend quality time with one another. Uh-oh, that’s also when, for many people, that “wonderful time of the year” turns into “I can’t wait until Christmas is over.”

Are you looking forward to Christmas with a small (or large) sense of dread in seeing various family members and in-laws?

A Merry Christmas It Is

I hope everyone had as good a Christmas as we did.

My wife’s parents and my brother helped our immediate family wipe out the dressing, giblet gravy, sweet potatoes, and cajun injected turkey.

We weren’t able to see my parents for Christmas, but at least we had been able to visit them in Baton Rouge for Thanksgiving.

We have a lot to be thankful for. Most importantly, thank you God for the gift of your son Jesus Christ. Man I’m blessed!

The In-Laws Are Coming, The In-Laws Are Coming! Dealing With Family Visits

My in-laws are coming from Ohio to stay with us in a few days. How do you think I feel about that?

If you’re like many people, you may think that I’m dreading it. Well, I’m one of those rare people that actually like my wife’s parents. I’m glad they’re able to visit and wish that we had the opportunity to see them more often.
